I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the services provided by Genelite Pty Ltd. I purchased a DHY22KSEM 22KVA generator on October 17, 2024, at a cost of $13,432.10. However, upon delivery, the generator was only load banked to 12KW, falling short of the 18KW required for full load banking. This was acknowledged by the company in their report sheet.The generator was improperly configured, causing it to overload at 12KW. Despite my repeated requests for rectification until December 10, 2024, my efforts have been unsuccessful.I have sought assistance from the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) and the Consumer Business and Organisations Service (CBOS). Through these channels, I have engaged with their agent, DSA, in Hobart. DSA has indicated their willingness to collaborate with Genelite to repair the generator, which Genelite considers to be under warranty. However, Genelite has expressed hesitation to loadbank the generator as per requirement due to the potential risk of damage.DSA has provided the following response:“With any manufacturer’s warranty, it covers any mechanical or workmanship fault of a product. After reviewing previous notes and as per your attachment, Genelite did provide a load bank. While clerical procedure was perhaps mistaken, the unit was as required run to normal load banking conditions of 75% load. However, I do note that after your concerns were raised, there were changes made to programming remotely with your assistance, which have rectified the issues of capacity. There would not be any scope within warranty coverage to claim this check, as other data provided shows that the machine is operating within specifications. Please note - this does not include the cost of an electrician to assist with connection/disconnection from the unit, as would be required.”In response to the proposed expenses, I must pursue legal action to rectify the situation. I have filed a claim under the Consumer Business and Organisations Service (CBOS) NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE scheme to have the generator collected and a refund of the monies paid to my account as soon as possible. If necessary, I will proceed to court to seek legal remedies.I strongly advise against doing business with Genelite on-site energy or their other business, Generent, who attempt to distance themselves from Genelite.

We were surprised how compact the unit is considering the power it generates. We live in a cyclone area on a rural property prone to power outages constantly, we now have peace of mind and have been able to run our whole household with the unit.Now we are always prepared for any loss of supply.Very very satisfied customer.

Awful company with appalling service, if you can get through without being hung up on then expect to be advised out of stock one minute then in the next, laughable, didn't end there though as i was only to be advised the item sold before i was given a new quote hundreds of $ higher than many other companies listed so much for service and a price match guarantee, avoid like the plague!! fully expect the owner to focus on smallprint T&C's and ignore the terrible customer service
